This June, Thirty-Three Oakland County high schoolers gathered together to gain insights as future leaders through Leadership Oakland’s Junior LO Cohort.

The three-day interactive workshop is designed to encourage and empower young adults as they navigate their high school years and prepare for their futures.

During this year’s Junior LO held at Walsh College, students heard from dozens of community leaders, business owners, nonprofit organizations, city officials, and educational resources. Each session offers a glimpse into a future career, college and trade school options, financial resources. Students also hear from inspirational speakers with guidance on work/life balance and building a solid foundation.

“Junior Leadership Oakland is a unique experience that we’re proud to offer students each summer,” said Leadership Oakland Executive Director, Susan Hollady. “In three short days students strengthen their leadership skills and interact with students from across the county while having access to a network of local professionals all invested in seeing our next generation of leaders thrive.”
