The Community Health Center of Southeast Kansas has expanded care in Pittsburg by opening a new seven-day-a-week Walk-In Care Clinic at 924 N. Broadway, Pittsburg. The new clinic began seeing patients August 5 and will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Sunday.

CHC/SEK Walk-in Care sees patients of all ages, and is appropriate for conditions such as colds, flu, sprains, skin rashes, minor cuts and lacerations, and certain types of infections. Flu and other vaccines and school/sports physicals also are available.

Patients who typically use emergency departments for these conditions will find shorter wait times and more affordable care. Additionally, the clinic will offer a convenient location for everyone working or residing in the downtown district.

The new downtown clinic represents more than $850,000 in investments into the community. The facility was renovated to include seven exam rooms, a laboratory, plus support space, and a pharmacy to be opened later this year.

CHC/SEK also has Pittsburg facilities at 3011 N. Michigan and 1011 S. Mount Carmel Place with both offering pharmacy services. It also operates the Bryant Student Health Center on the Pittsburg State University campus and has school health clinics within USD 250.

CHC/SEK accepts all insurances and offers discounted sliding scale fees for services based on family size and income level. No one is refused treatment based on his or her insurance status or ability to pay.

The new CHC/SEK Walk-in Care clinic at 924 N. Broadway can be reached on 620-670-8070. For more information about CHC/SEK services and locations, visit www.chcsek.org.
