Saturday, and now Sunday at 1pm, take a deep dive into the rich history of The
Barker Mansion with our expert-guided tours. Explore the architectural marvels

Mystery Tour promises an unforgettable adventure.
On your guided tour you will discover
something significant to the Barker family is missing from several of the
rooms. Listen carefully to your tour guide for clues! Each missing object
pieced together will solve the “Mystery at the Mansion”!
This
immersive experience invites guests to explore the historic Barker Mansion as
never before—by the ambient glow of candlelight and mystery!

Agatha Christie's mysteries: Hallowe'en Party, the inspiration for the
recent film A Haunting in Venice.
Join
us for an evening in lively discussions about Christie's iconic characters,
cunning plots, and unparalleled storytelling that have captivated readers for
generations. To add a dash of sophistication to the evenings, enjoy a
delicious charcuterie board and indulge in a curated whiskey tasting
featuring a selection of premium whiskies expertly paired with the suspenseful

Homeschool History Hangout

A
fun educational event for homeschoolers! Open a “time capsule” box filled with
items from the past. Students will discuss the contents and discover the who,
what & why of each object and its relevance to a time in history.
Spook-Tacular
Halloween Party for Kids
Saturday, October 19th

This delightfully spooky
celebration will be filled with fun activities, eerie entertainment, and loads
of Halloween excitement and light refreshments to enjoy!
Creepy Crafts Corner: Kids can
unleash their creativity by decorating their very own Halloween treat bag!
Spooky Story Time: Gather
around for a not-too-scary story time filled with fun Halloween tales.
Monster Mash Dance Party: Get ready to
boogie down at our dance party with Halloween-themed music. A great way for
kids to show off their best monster moves!
Ghoulish Games: Participate
in fun-filled games like "Witch Hat Ring Toss,” “Spider Races,” and “Feed
the Monster.”
Costume Parade: For the big
finale! Let your little ones show off their creative costumes in our Halloween
parade.
This event is designed to provide a safe,
fun, and family-friendly Halloween experience for children. Parents and
guardians are encouraged to join in the festivities and help create wonderful
memories.
The historic Barker Mansion lives as a monument
of industry, charity, and turn-of-the-century life in Michigan City
The 35,000 sq. foot home features 38 rooms, 10 bathrooms, and 7
fireplaces along with a new exhibit, The Haskell & Barker Car Company
and Legacy of Freight. This state-of-the art exhibit features a 3D model of
the Haskell & Barker factory and tells the story of the significance
the factory and its workers had to Michigan City, Indiana and the nation.
Visitors
can enjoy Guided tours on Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays at 1pm and
Self-guided tours Tuesday-Sunday.
The
