OCC Hosts Virtual Job Fairs for Health Professions and Manufacturing Areas March 18
OAKLAND COUNTY, Mich. - March 8, 2021 - OCC’s Career Services is hosting two virtual Career Fairs on March 18 to help connect local employers with potential job candidates in the Health Professions and the Engineering, Manufacturing and Industrial Technology (EMIT) areas.
Each Career Fair on March 18 will focus on a specific area of employment and registration is required. The sessions include:
· Health Professions Job Fair-9 a.m. to noon.

Preparation Workshops Help Job Seekers Improve Chances at Landing a Position
To help prepare attendees for these Career Fairs, OCC’s Career Services department is offering Career Fair Preparation Workshops designed to assist job seekers in knowing what they need to do prior to, during and after the career fair. The Preparation Workshops will be also be held virtually during the following dates and times:
· March 8- 4 p.m. to 5 p.m.
· March 15-11 a.m. to noon
· March 15-6 p.m. to 7 p.m.
The workshops will prepare job candidates for the following:
· What do I need to do before the career fair?
· What is an elevator speech?
· How will I connect and communicate with employers?
· What to expect after the career fair?

“There are a lot of local employers with job openings and the opportunity to talk with these representatives regarding a potential job is something candidates need to prepare for to give themselves a better chance of being hired,” said Donna DuHame-Schmidt, Director of Career Services and Cooperative Education at OCC. “By attending our Preparation Workshops prior to talking with employers at our Career Fairs, the candidates will be able to put their best foot forward during an interview.”
