EV Stations are Luxury Property’s Latest Addition to “Green” Initiatives;
Hotel Joins Tesla Motor’s Destination Charging Program

BIRMINGHAM, Mich. - April 1, 2015 - Beginning today, April 1, 2015, overnight guests of The Townsend Hotel , as well as corporate event attendees and visitors to the property’s Rugby Grille and Afternoon Tea, will have access to the luxury hotel’s three new complimentary electric vehicle (EV) charging stations.

The Townsend Hotel, a AAA 4-Diamond and Forbes Travel Guide Four-Star luxury property known for its exceptional service and amenities, is now home to EV charging stations that include two Tesla High Power Wall Connectors, as The Townsend becomes the latest property to join a rapidly growing nationwide network of hotels, resorts and restaurants in the Tesla Destination Charging Program .

The stations also include one Clipper Creek Universal Charger, which can be used to power all other makes and models of electric vehicles.  Guests wishing to charge their vehicles will have them parked by The Townsend valet team at the charging stations located in the hotel’s private parking garage.
