Responsible for operation of cable ferryboat for commuter usage, including loading and unloading of vehicles as well as some maintenance and upkeep. Essential Functions:
- Loading and unloading cars from ferries;
- Maintaining engines and hydraulic systems & checking engine fluids and fuel daily;
- Checking safety equipment;
- Maintaining fittings, cables, and rollers;
- Cleaning ferries & ferry houses;
- Communicating with the public Operating ferry cables for river traffic;
- Maintaining ferry logs; and
- Maintaining messages on the ferry hotline.
