Within the State’s Attorney’s Office, the Social Worker is responsible for identifying youth and families who are at risk of engaging in violence. The Social Worker will evaluate, request, receive, and review educational, medical, police, and social service agency records and consult and coordinate with various agencies to determine available and appropriate services for this population.
Essential Duties:
- Prepares requests for, receives, reviews, and summarizes educational, medical, police, and social service agency records;
- Communicates with children/families as appropriate;
- Communicates and collaborates with educational, medical, police, and social service agencies as appropriate;
- Makes recommendations regarding available and appropriate service providers for children/families;
- Collaborates with prosecutors in preparation for court action;
- Communicates internally with prosecutors and staff, as well as externally with agencies and service providers; and
- Tracks progress and records statistics.
