Talent is a foundational element in the success of any economic development strategy. Unless our communities attract and retain the talent that local employers need, it doesn’t matter how many businesses we recruit. However, with an aging population, attracting and retaining talent in Kentucky presents new challenges and opportunities. In our next virtual Education and Advocacy session we will hear from Andi Johnson, Chief Policy Officer and Director of Regional Engagement, at Commerce Lexington, and Shelby Somerville, VP of Government Affairs and Communications, at Greater Louisville Inc., who will discuss talent attraction as part of our workforce development strategy and how KAED members, through our public policy advocacy, can promote these strategies.
