Did you know that every verbal communication you engage in is a presentation in one way or another? As you move through the professional world, developing the skills to not only communicate with an audience but also be heard is vital on the path to success.    

Prepare for your next speaking opportunity by joining fellow Young Leaders of the Easten Shore for Part II of our presentation skills training series presented by Effective Presentations geared towards developing or refining your verbal and non-verbal communication skills.    

Workshop participants will:  

• Overcome or significantly reduce their fear of public speaking
• Learn to inspire their listeners and engage every audience
• Participate in a variety of stimulating skill building activities  Receive constructive feedback concerning strengths and areas for improvement  
• Benefit from of helpful insight from skilled trainer(s) on their natural speaking style and non verbal techniques    

This training is available to young leaders of the surrounding area but will be capped at 40 attendees - so don't wait, sign up today! Participants do not have to have attended the first session to participate in this session.

The 46th Annual Bethany Beach Boardwalk Arts Festival in downtown Bethany Beach will be held on Saturday, September 7th from 10 am – 5 pm. The popular one-day show features jewelry, glass, pottery, watercolor and oil paintings, photography, woodworking, and much more! Guests are invited to a Wine Tasting at Harvest Tide Steakhouse located right in the heart of the Festival happenings on Saturday and the Meet the Artist Reception at Gallery One on the eve of the festival! We’re excited to announce the Silent Auction will be held Saturday from 10am-2pm on the bandstand where participating artists donate their art of choice to benefit 5 local schools. Come celebrate the end of summer where the beach is the backdrop for unique works of art!

The Wine Tasting will be held on Saturday, September 7th from 1-5 pm at Harvest Tide Steakhouse. Guests have the option of two timeslots: 1-3 pm or 3-5 pm. The March 26th General Membership Luncheon featuring Maryland Secretary of Commerce Kevin Anderson has been RESCHEDULED to SEPTEMBER 19 at 11:30 AM.

Anderson was the Founder & CEO of Cardinal Atlantic Holdings, an economic and community development firm targeting scaled social impact and investment in urban centers. With specializations in real estate and education technology, CAH advises funds, corporations and governments on economic and community development strategy and projects. 

As the state’s primary economic development agency, the Department of Commerce stimulates private investment and job creation by attracting new businesses, encouraging the expansion of existing companies, and providing workforce training and financial assistance to Maryland Companies.

Secretary Anderson will discuss new department initiatives, the State of Mayland's economy, and the outlook for Maryland’s businesses moving forward.

The 2024 Salisbury Area Chamber of Commerce Golf Classic, presented by Spicer Brothers Construction, will be held on September 27, 2024 at Green Hill Country Club in Quantico, MD.

This is the SACC premier networking event of the year, where business experts and community leaders from all over Delmarva gather for a golf tournament like no other.  

Participants say this tournament is unique, enjoyable, and a great opportunity to connect with colleagues and make new connections!

The day’s festivities will begin with registration and breakfast starting at 8:00 AM, followed by a 50/50 Ball Drop on the driving range.

The Salisbury Area Chamber of Commerce and the Lower Shore American Job Center are proud to host their annual regional Job and Career Fair every fall at the Centre at Salisbury.

This year’s fair, presented by Quality Staffing Services, will be held on Thursday, October 3, 2024, from 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM.

The regional Job and Career Fair is FREE for attendees and open to the community.

• Over 65 employers participate in the Job & Career Fair, and approximately 2000 job seekers attend the event.
• Any business seeking employees in the Lower Shore region is encouraged to participate, regardless of company size.
